Sales anomalies: what MyProfit noticed

What this is

A problem with a product is usually noticed at the end of the month, once it has already shown up in revenue. Anomalies are an attempt to notice it earlier: MyProfit reviews sales for every Артикул itself and flags the ones behaving unlike their usual selves.

Three things get flagged:

  • A sales drop — the product was selling, and now noticeably less.
  • A sales surge — sales accelerated. That is a signal too: it may need restocking.
  • A cancellation spike — the share of cancelled orders rose relative to what is normal for that product.

The MyProfit interface is in Russian; the screens are «Аномалии» on the dashboard and «Отчеты» → «Аномалии продаж».

What it is compared against

Each Артикул is compared against itself, not against other products and not against a shop average. MyProfit takes a recent window and the comparable window before it, computes the average sales rate in each, and looks at the difference.

This matters: for a product selling two a day and one selling two hundred a day, “normal” is a completely different number. Comparing against its own history makes them comparable.

The current, unfinished day is excluded — otherwise every morning would look like a collapse.

Why not every product appears

Products that sell rarely and in ones and twos are excluded. On small numbers any movement looks like an anomaly: one sale instead of zero is an infinite increase, but it is not news.

A short, meaningful list is therefore normal. If a product you are worried about has not appeared, its sales are most likely too small to tell signal from chance.

Where to look

  • The «Аномалии» card on the dashboard — the most notable ones, as a short list.
  • The «Отчеты» → «Аномалии продаж» tab — the full list with sorting and settings.

Clicking a product opens the sales list already filtered to that Артикул, where you can see what actually happened.

An anomaly is a reason to look, not a diagnosis. An end-of-season drop and a drop caused by running out of stock look identical to the calculation.
